Connect two Flex Shafts Together
Connect two same or different sized flexible shafts together with the Shaft-to-Shaft Connector. Easy-to-use gadget by tightening shafts into the connector via included hex screws.
You might not need the longest Flex Shaft
Listen, do NOT buy the longest flexible shaft of 30m (100ft) unless you absolutely are certain of needing it even after reading this product description. This could save you a lot of time, effort, money, and your back.
- The flexible shaft packs a shit ton of weight over its length. You don’t want to carry the weight of a 30-meter (~100ft) shaft to a jobsite needing a 5-meter (~16ft) cleanup, right?
- The longer your shaft is, the more power you need to deliver necessary torque to the other end; there is a slight energy loss passed through the flexible shaft. This is especially true in situations where you’re running, let’s say, a 30-meter (~100ft) shaft, but you only wind open 5 meters from it. This means that you have a good 25 meters (~80ft) of shaft wound up, and as you try to run that wound pile, it will need so much power to even get the end moving that you’ll probably burn your cordless drill before you get it rotating.
- Most of the blockages never occur further than 20 meters (~65ft) away from your point of entry, and in most cases, cleanouts are located around 25 meters (~80ft) apart.
Taking these 3 things into consideration, instead of just rushing in and getting the longest shaft your money can buy, you should consider your needs:
What pipe lengths are about 80% of your jobs? What are the 20%? Our suggestion would be to get the correct length for those 80% and get additional flex shaft that has combined length with the first one to cover those last 20%.
Now this is where the Shaft-to-Shaft Connector comes to play:
When facing the need of the combined reach of both flex shafts, just attach the two shafts together, do the job and detach after you're done. This way you have the ultimate setup for maximum mobility, lightweight, control in bend navigation & torque ratios.
Available in following shaft thicknesses:
- 8mm (⅓) / 8mm (⅓)
- 8mm (⅓) / 10mm (⅜″)
- 10mm (⅜″) / 10mm (⅜″)
- 10mm (⅜″) / 12mm (½″)
- 12mm (½″) / 12mm (½″)
